From Driving to Passenger: Transitions for Older Adults

December 12 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

For most adults, driving a car means independence. Changes in physical functioning and cognition may make driving unsafe, and gradual changes may be imperceptible to the aging driver. This program provides a roadmap to help families address the issue with tact, compassion, and empathy, so that the older driver’s dignity and independence are never unnecessarily jeopardized.

Program Presenter:  David Stamberg, Senior Care Authority

David Stamberg is the owner of Senior Care Authority in Northern and Central New Jersey and Rockland County in New York. Senior Care Authority does elder consulting with an emphasis on senior living placement assistance. David is a Certified Senior Advisor, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a Certified Beyond Driving with Dignity Professional. David is also the chair of the Bergen/Passaic County “Walk to End Alzheimer’s.” He has a high level of empathy for families challenged with having a loved-one suffer from dementia as he lost his Dad to Lewy Body Dementia.
