ACAP Cape Fear (NC)

With great sadness, this note is to inform you that ACAP Cape Fear is closing after its program on September 10.  Program participation simply did not convey sufficient interest to continue the effort.

We will forever be incredibly grateful for Dorothy Griffin and Ruth Finch, Chapter Co-Coordinators, and Lynda Barrow, Bess Blackburn, Kathleen Cerron, Jason Clamme, Mary Ann Dugan, Don Harris, Aimee Lalonde, Lisa Robinette, Jen Selden, Chelsea Stygles, Scott Warren, and Nikki Zeldin, other Leadership Team members, who, with heart, knowledge, insight, and wisdom, organized and led the chapter so capably.  In addition, we are grateful for the many Wilmington-area businesses, agencies, and organizations that supported the chapter through Leadership Team membership representation, chapter sponsorships, program speakers, and sharing information about upcoming programs with their constituents.  We also deeply appreciate the outstanding speakers who provided meaningful information for participants and for the local media partners who helped share information about the programs.  In addition, we are grateful for the many caregivers – adult children of aging parents and others – who participated in the programs, in person and online.  Individually and collectively, you affirmed ACAP Cape Fear efforts and encouraged all involved with the chapter.

Although ACAP Cape Fear will no longer be offering monthly in-person programs, you will find videos of their excellent programs on YouTube (under “ACAPcommunity”) and on the ACAP website (www.ACAPcommunity.org), under the Resources tab.   On both sites, you also will find videos from our other chapters’ outstanding programs as well as 70+ ACAP podcasts addressing all sorts of topics related to caring for aging loved ones.

With deep appreciation for all who have been involved with ACAP Cape Fear and sincerest best wishes for continued support for all in the Wilmington area involved with the care of older adults, please do let us know if we at ACAPcommunity may ever be of assistance to you.

Kind regards,

Frances S. Hall
