For most individuals, being able to drive a car equates to independence. However, as we age, our vision, hearing, physical abilities, and cognitive functions may decline, making driving more difficult and even hazardous. It’s important to note that these changes usually happen gradually and may be difficult to detect unless there is a sudden decline. Driving ability varies by individual, so age is not necessarily a determining factor.
How do you know when a driver needs to be evaluated? Can driving skills be improved to prolong the ability to drive? How do you approach the discussion with your loved ones? These are important questions to consider and will be covered in the program.
