'Tis the season of giving — and if you're caring for an aging parent, chances are you've been pouring from your cup all year long. This December, ACAP Indy Metro North invites caregivers, adult children, and seniors alike to pause, breathe, and refill.
The holidays bring their own layer of pressure on top of caregiving: extra gatherings to plan, extra expectations to manage, extra emotions to navigate — all while still showing up for the people who depend on you. It's a lot. And it's exactly why we're closing out our first year with a program built just for you: an evening of support and self-care, made for caregivers who rarely stop to take their own advice.
This program is about managing caregiver guilt, setting healthy boundaries, and finding balance — skills that matter every day of the year, but especially right now, in the thick of the holiday season. You'll leave with practical strategies for handling the emotional weight of caregiving, permission to care for yourself without guilt, and a few tools to carry with you into the new year.
This isn't a lecture. It's a chance to sit down with people who understand exactly what you're carrying, share what's worked (and what hasn't), and leave a little lighter than you came in.
You'll walk away with:
- Practical ways to set boundaries and manage caregiver guilt during the busiest season of the year
- Tools for balancing family demands, holiday expectations, and caregiving responsibilities
- Encouragement and connection heading into the new year — because you don't have to carry this alone
As always, ACAP programs are free and open to the entire community. Bring a friend, bring a sibling who shares in the caregiving, or come on your own — walk-ins are always welcome.
